The Hottest Bridal Trends for Summer 2019
In the busy world of bridal, you can be sure of one thing, change! We love keeping you up to date with what’s hot in wedding wear. In this blog we look at what brides to be are searching for online – including cool wedding dresses with pockets! – and the latest up to the minute bridal accessories.
Wedding Dress Trends 2019 – Shopping platform Lyst has released its wedding report showing what millions of future brides are searching for online for their big day. It also considers social media metrics, such as what the big brands and media are saying, along with hotly tipped wedding products and accessories.
Dresses with pockets – The report contains some unexpected twists, including showing a huge rise in searches for ‘wedding dresses with pockets’. Inspired by an Instagram picture of a Cambridge bride and bridesmaids sporting pockets in their dresses, the trend is catching on big time. And who doesn’t love a pocket? They’re comfy, super cool for posing, and the perfect place to store essentials, like extra lippy and ‘the ring’.
Hot Pink Dresses – Another big bridal trend is hot pink dresses. Since Villanelle wore a poufy pink Molly Goddard dress in Killing Eve, the popularity of pink formal dresses has soared. Recently, Kendall Jenner arrived at the Cannes AmfAR Gala wearing a show-stopping tiered pink dress.
If a frothy pink gown feels a step too far, we have the perfect pink accessories to top off your ensemble. Our blush pink flower crown with pink and gold fabric flowers looks beautiful worn in a headband style on brides and bridesmaids. For a relaxed, romantic look, keep hair long and loose.
Or our Juliet crystal headband entwined with delicate pale pink and purple flowers with a hint of rose gold, is gloriously feminine. This versatile headpiece suits a variety of bridal hairstyles – wear on top of soft waves or encircling an up-do. It also looks wonderful worn by itself in the evening.
Statement bridal headpieces – We’ve been following the rise of statement headpieces for a while and the Lyst confirms that glamourous headbands are set to be big this year. What Meghan Markle started with her dazzling diamond tiara, was compounded by Rachel Weisz who wore a beautiful vintage headpiece (comprising two Cartier brooches) to the Oscars.
You can get a similar look with our vintage style Freya headband. This simple, elegant headband with crystal clusters sits beautifully across the forehead or in a headband style.
Or for a gorgeous antique jewellery aesthetic, try our Cecile tiara. Its delicate scroll design encrusted with Austrian crystals is reminiscent of old royalty and looks beautiful with or without a veil.
Pearl Jewellery – Pearl earrings and pearl hair accessories are also trending this year.
Pearls are a classic look and can be worn in a statement way – check out Dior’s oversized pearl earrings for reference – or in a subtle, understated fashion. Pearl accessories complement a huge array of wedding outfits – from traditional gowns to on-trend separates and white suits – plus they never, ever date.
Rock the look in our hand-crafted Bella headband. Finished with delicate crystals and pearls, it’s a really eye-catching headpiece. Or try our stand-out Amelia Headband with ivory pearls and floral design. This is a great piece to take you from day to night, and it looks simply stunning worn on its own.
Pearl hairclips also add a lovely finishing touch to bridal hair styles. Our rose gold and pearl clips look beautiful tucked into waves and in half-up half-down styles.
For co-ordinated styling, accessorise with other pearl pieces, such as a pearl bracelet or wedding belt. Our Cora ribbon-tied bridal cuff with pearls is the ideal finishing touch.
