Pretty as a Princess – How to get Meghan’s Bridal Look

Oh, we do love a wedding, and they don’t come much better than a Royal Wedding!

Much like us, we imagine brides-to-be everywhere will have been watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s wedding this weekend to see Meghan’s bridal style finally unveiled – and by George, we weren’t disappointed!

Here’s our expert guide to Meghan’s wedding dress, bridal hair and accessories – including that stunning statement tiara – and how you can get the look for your big day.

The Dress –  After months of speculation the wedding dress was an exquisitely cut, pure white silk dress by Givenchy. Its simple silhouette offset by a five-meter long gossamer-thin silk veil, decorated with flowers representing each of the commonwealth countries. The overall look was simple and sophisticated, very much reminiscent of Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn’s iconic fashion style. You can bet however, no sooner had Meghan stepped from the wedding car, industrious wedding designers everywhere will have got to work making replicas, so expect to see similar designs online and in shops very soon!

Bridal Hair – Meghan kept her hair pretty and natural, swept back in a low, loose bun held in place with simple hairpins. For a similar understated look, try our Cara wedding hairpins with petite pearl clusters.

Meghan’s Bridal Accessories

That Tiara – Like Kate Middleton, Meghan wore a historic tiara lent to her by the Queen. Meghan’s exquisite diamond and platinum headpiece was originally made for Queen Mary, the Queen’s grandmother in the 1930s. At the centre of the tiara is a removable broach comprising one large diamond surrounded by 10 smaller diamonds.

Although simple, the beauty of the tiara is its classic shape and sensational sparkle. You can achieve a similar look with About Eve’s show-stopping Hailey tiara, a traditional crown tiara beset with pearls and crystals. Or our art deco style crystal Harper tiara.

For subtle sparkle our Adele tiara looks stunning with loose, natural waves or a relaxed bridal bun like Meghan’s – just add a few face-framing tendrils!

Bridal Jewellery – In keeping with the wedding dress’ pared-back aesthetic, Meghan kept her jewellery simple with a Cartier white gold diamond bracelet and matching diamond stud earrings. Rumoured to cost a six-figure sum, you can achieve a similar look for less with our Maci bridal cuff, a delicate ribbon-tied crystal bracelet, or our floral-shaped Eleanor wedding bracelet with pretty rhinestone and crystal clusters.

If you’re planning a simple wedding gown, you can add a touch of sparkle to your wedding gown with a matching, bespoke wedding belt or sash.

Bridesmaid and Flower Girl Headbands – Of course who can forget the party of pretty-as-a-picture flower girls accompanying the bride? Meghan’s bridesmaids wore simple white silk dresses topped with flower headbands of ivory roses. Real flowers are beautiful but tend to wilt in warm weather, to achieve a similar style –  minus floppy flowers – try our blush and gold Blossom flower crown. Honestly, they won’t want to take it off!
